An accomplished artist with over 30 years of experience in the fine arts. Growing up in a family with deep roots in Bharatnatyam. Sunitha started her journey at Nupura with Paramaguru Smt. Lalitha Srinivasan, performing at prestigious national and international stages. She has won honourable mentions in media and was fondly titled the " Bogase kannina sundari" by Mysore V Subramanyam, a renowned critic. When translated from kannada, 'Bogase kannina sundari' means 'The doe-eyed beauty'.
After achieving distinction in the Bharatnatyam Vidwath (Doctoral) exams, Sunitha was blessed with the opportunity to perform with various gurus, including Smts. Lalitha Srinivasan, Nirupama Rajendra, Narmada, and Padmini Ramachandra. She has performed (on invitation) at Pratibhashoda (Mysore Dasara), Indian Institute of World Culture, Natyanjali (Chidambaram Temple), Samskruta Souraba (Govt. of Karnataka, Kannada & Culture Department), Paramesh Center of Arts Festival, Mayiladudurai Natyanjali, Ankura, Sangeeta Nrityostava, Yuva Sangeet Nritya Mahotsava, Bharat Kalachara, Mayiladudurai Nataraja Festival, Nritya Navarathri, Sangeeta Nritya Academy, Kannada Sammelena Sabha, Nitya Nritya and Gurusmarane.
At the onset of her dancing career, she performed for select Indian movies (Chinnari Mutta, and G.V. Iyer's Kumara Vyasa Bharata). She has also been a lead television artiste for the hit soap opera Jayam (Balaji Telefilms), Doordarshan shows such as Ananda Devi Anugraham Devi, Kanakadasa, and other Bharatanatyam performances for regional television. She also used her dancing skill to win the Ms. Chennai pageant in 2004.
Her passion for art and culture drives her nritya.
